As cell phone enthusiasts, we are always interested in the latest, greatest, and most physically appealing cell phones on the market. Perhaps that’s why the iphone, the LG BL40 and the classic yet stylish Blackberry are all so popular. But what about the ugly phones? The gaudy, horrifically designed, tacky cell phones that nobody wants, or would be crazy to own? Here is a list of five of what we think are the ugliest cell phones available on the market today. We highly suggest avoiding them, but hey, to each his own!

Verizon Wireless may soon add another formidable handset to its already powerful Android line-up. The folks at Pocketnow have obtained the images and details of an alleged Verizon-bound device called the HTC Incredible.

The latest version of Google Maps for Mobile has delivered the coveted multitouch support to the Motorola DROID. The newly released version 3.4 of Google Maps for Mobile enables pinch-to-zoom support on the DROID. This update is now available via the Android Market.

Verizon Wireless offered a great mobile phone line-up in 2009 with high-end devices like the Motorola DROID, and BlackBerry Tour. The carrier started the year strong by releasing the Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus. However, Verizon has a lot more mobile phone surprises under its sleeve. Circulating rumors suggest that T-Mobile USA's under performing financials may lead Germany's Deutsche Telecom to offload the fourth largest network operator in the U.S. According to the folks at the Wall Street Journal, DT is currently going over its options while meeting with Investment Banking firms. Deutsche Telecom might decide to spin off a percentage of T-Mobile USA while keeping the majority and get the under performing unit's financials off its books.

The announcement of SlingPlayer Mobile for the iPhone caused plenty of excitement but AT&T decided to restrict the application to work only over Wi-Fi. Fortunately, the carrier has announced that a new, optimized version of the SlingPlayer Mobile application will be allowed to operate over its 3G data network.

Now owners of the Palm Pre (plus) and Pixi (plus) can manage their DVR schedule through their mobile phones.  DirecTV has added a new app to the App Catalog for DirecTV users to download.  The app is free of charge with the right set-top box and allows users to search for shows, browse by channel, or browse by data and time, then schedule their DVR to record their favorite shows.  Check out the app today and let us know what you think.

A new Motorola Android phone has entered the scene a day after the official announcement of the Devour for Verizon Wireless. A prototype of an upcoming handset called the Motorola Zeppelin has been acquired by the folks at Gizmodo Brazil. This smartphone appears to be running on the Android Cupcake OS with the MOTOBLUR social networking themed interface.
