ANDROID WILL DOMINATE 2010 SMART PHONE MARKET

I love the iPhone, I love Palm Pre.  I actually think that Palm Pre and iphone are better devices than the android phones out right now (G1 and the HTC My Touch).  I hate the slowness of the current android devices.  I think the android devices are greatly underpowered.

However, I think the Android will DOMINATE the market next year, and it will start flexing its mustle Christmas 2009.

There are several reasons for why android will dominate, as outlined in this adage article:

• its free to the OEMs and carriers
• it is well supported by google and will be supported by developers
• its building a big fan base
• it works well, its solid

This is a game changer in the smart phoe world.  Yes, microsoft tried it but it wasnt GIVING away its OS, it was stuck on the old business model.  Google will give it away and make money on google wave and on search generated by these devices. 

Overall its good for the consumers.  I hope the OEMs will start powering up the chipsets for the android phones soon.
