CELL PHONES AND BRAIN CANCER

We are cell phone enthusiasts and because we love cell phones so much, we created 611Connect.  Nevertheless, it is important to acknowledge that many researchers and scientists remain deeply concerned about the cancer risks associated with cell phone radiation.  On August 25th, a disturbing report was released by the International EMF Collaborative entitled "Cellphones and Brain Tumors: 15 Reasons for Concern, Science, Spin and the Truth Behind Interphone.”  The study offered three troubling conclusions:

•  There is a risk of brain tumors from cell phone use
•  Industry funded studies underestimate the risk of brain tumors
•  Children have larger risks than adults for brain tumors

In addition, there is emerging research that may also show a correlation between cell phone use and the increased risk of infertility among men.

Congress will also be looking in to the matter.  Senator Arlen Specter (D-PA) will be chairing a Senate hearing on cell phones and health on Monday, September 14 on Capitol Hill.
