The Google Android Market has reached a significant milestone since it was launched more than a year ago. The applications store for Google Android handsets is now offering more than 20,000 apps. Around 62% of the products available via the Android Market are free while 38% can be obtained with a small fee. In comparison, the Apple’s App Store is currently offering more than 100,000 applications. The arrival of more Android-powered smartphones like the HTC Nexus One may significantly increase the number of products in the store. Estimates suggests that the Android Market may be home to more than 100,000 applications by the end of 2010.
