AT&T OVERHAULS VOICE, TEXTING AND DATA PLANS TO COMPETE WITH VERIZON

AT&T has made major changes to its wireless offerings in response to Verizon's major alterations to its voice, texting and data plans. These new AT&T voice, texting and data plans will also be available beginning today, Jan. 18. Existing AT&T customers can change to any of the new plans without penalty or contract extension with the online account management tool at the carrier's website.

Feature Phone Plans

• unlimited talk for $69.99 (individuals)
• Family Talk customers unlimited talk for $119.99 per month (prices assume two lines)
• Texting plans at $20 for unlimited plans for individuals and $30 for Family Talk plans

Quick Messaging Device Plans

• for texting phones with QWERTY keyboards
• unlimited talk and text for $89.99 per month.
• Family Talk unlimited talk and text for $149.99 per month (for two lines)
• include a required minimum of $20 per month for individual plans and $30 per month for Family Talk plans

Smartphone and iPhone Plans

• unlimited voice and data for $99.99
• Family Talk plans (prices assume 2 smartphones) unlimited voice and data for $179.99
• Texting plans remain unchanged at $20 for unlimited plans for individuals, $30 for Family Talk Plans
