BLACKBERRY TORCH 9800 TO HIT AT&T STORES ON AUGUST 12 FOR $199

 

RIM's BlackBerry slider is now official. AT&T will start selling the BlackBerry Torch 9800 beginning August 12th at company owned retail stores or online for $199 with a two-year commitment. This upcoming AT&T phone features a slider design with a 3.2-inch (480 x 360 pixels) HVGA touchscreen display, an optical trackpad and a full QWERTY keypad.

Here are the rest of the details for the new BlackBerry Torch 9800 for AT&T:

  • 5 MP camera with flash, autofocus, and environment settings
  • BlackBerry 6 OS with a "new rich Web browsing experience"

  • GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi with 802.11n networking
  • tabbed browsing and multi-touch, pinch-to-zoom capabilities
  • social networking feed application with support for Twitter, Facebook and MySpace
  • 3.5 mm headset jack
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Service and BlackBerry Internet Service
  • 1300 mAh battery. Talk time: up to 5.5 hours; stand-by time: up to 13 days (on 3G)
