FIFTY-FIVE PERCENT ODDS FOR SPRINT AND T-MOBILE MERGE

In recent months, rumors of a merger between Sprint and T-Mobile have circulated but the claims have been dismissed quickly as improbable. However, Citigroup analyst Michael Rollins claims that the odds of a Sprint-T-Mobile merge have improved to around 55%.

The possibility of a Sprint-T-Mobile merge have been dismissed by some experts since Sprint operates on a CDMA network while T-Mobile uses GSM technology. However, Rollins argues that T-Mobile might be able to provide a solution to Sprint's problems with bad debt and churn levels.

Citigroup raised Sprint's ratings on Wednesday causing the carrier's shares to increase by more than 6 percent. This rating increase has been attributed to the carrier's effort to promote its products and services as well as its attempts to improve customer service experience.
