Verizon Wireless subscribers can now get a taste of the the carrier's new Android-powered smartphones. The Motorola DROID costs $199 on contract (after a $100 mail-in rebate) while the HTC Droid Eris is being sold for an affordable price of $99 after rebates with a new contract. Consumers can purchase both of these new Verizon Wireless cell phones in retail stores and in the carrier's website. Reports indicate that stock levels for these Android smartphones are high so Verizon consumers should expect no problems when purchasing these handsets.
