I consider T-Mobile fans lucky because they have multiple choices when it comes to Android smartphones. The carrier is currently selling the T-Mobile G1 and my Touch 3G and is planning to add the Motorola Cliq and Samsung Behold II by the end of the year. I suspect that some T-Mobile subscribers are trying to decide on which phone to purchase. I thought it would be helpful to compare two of T-Mobile's Android powered phones to provide some information that may be helpful to some reader's. Let's look at the myTouch 3G in comparison to the Motorola CLIQ. The information in this post may help one make a decision to go ahead and purchase the myTouch 3G or wait for the Motorola CLIQ release on November 2. Design/Form Factor: The myTouch 3G sports a monoblock body while the CLIQ comes in with with a physical keyboard. Motorola's handset is the heftier device at 163 g compared to 116g for the HTC manufactured-smartphone. Network: Both of these devices have world-roaming capabilities and support for global 3G networks. However, the CLIQ has a slight advantage because it supports tri-band (900/1700/2100 MHz) global 3G while the myTouch 3G only has dual-band (1700/2100 MHz) 3G. Price: Currently, the myTouch 3G is being offered at $150 on contract. The CLIQ is expected to be sold for $200 at launch. Touchscreen: The myTouch 3G has a slightly larger screen at 3.20 inches with 320 x 480 pixels and 65 536 colors. The CLIQ has a slightly smaller screen at 3.10 inches with 320 x 480 pixels but it supports more colors (262 144). User Interface: The second Google phone for T-Mobile sports the standard Android UI that provides ability to customize menus, wallpapers, icons and more. The myTouch 3G& UI also offers one-touch access to check email, download music, get directions, and search by voice. However, the Motorola CLIQ claims the edge on the user interface department with its new MOTOBLUR UI that syncs contacts, posts, messages and photos from sources like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail, work and personal email into the handset's home screen. This user interface also stores and backs up contacts, messages and log-in information on a secure server so a users can quickly retrieve, or erase, data remotely Camera: The MyTouch 3G carries a decent 3.2 megapixel camera with zoom, auto-focus and video capture. However, the CLIQ offers a much better shooter with its 5 megapixel autofocus camera with digital zoom, geo tagging, white balance, effects and video recording at 25fps. Processor: The second HTC Android phone for T-Mobile USA comes with a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A with 192 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM while the CLIQ will have a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A processor with 256 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM. The higher RAM on the CLIQ probably means that it will be a bit faster and more responsive than its rival. Battery Power: Battery life is essential for smartphons like the CLIQ and myTouch 3G. However, the CLIQ has a slight edge in this category with its 1400mAh compared to the weaker 1340 mAh battery of its HTC counterpart. Memory: The myTouch 3G comes with 512MB of built-in memory with microSD card expansion of up to 32 GB. On the other hand the Motorola CLIQ has 256 MB of built-in memory with microSD card expansion of up to 32 GB. The Motorola CLIQ looks...
The Motorola CLIQ looks really cool but when i bought it the guy at the store said that alot of people have regretted buying it and he recommended the mytouch. I said umm...no thanks and he gave me 14 days to try the phone. After the 14 days if i dont like it he said i can return it and trade it in for the mytouch. And im kind of considering it now because the CLIQ cant update to android 1.6 so that means you cant download any of the new cool apps and you cant get the new android market...."YET" supposedly. I figured this out when i tried to download google goggles app and couldnt find it in the market.
Good study
Yep. I've gpt enough information to make up my mind. The promotion for the iTouch has been real big and it was hard for me to decide from this one or the MotorBlur. The second is the choise, it doesn't matter if is like 40 grams heavier. I don't pretend to be talking all day ;). Thanks for doing my homework!

Hello Merben,

Thanks.
