UPCOMING BLACKBERRY SMARTPHONES FOR 2011

 

RIM is facing tough competition in the smartphone market this year. The Apple iPhone has increased its influenced now that it has taken a spot at the Verizon Wireless line-up. Android smartphones from various manufacturers are trying to steal the show and Widows Phone 7 handsets are threatening to break out. Can RIM take on these powerful rivals? Let's look at the upcoming BlackBerry smartphones for 2011 to find out.

BlackBerry Torch 9810: This handset is headed for AT&T. It features a vertical slider design with a 3.2-inch touch screen with "Liquid Graphics." other main features for this upcoming BlackBerry smartphone include a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, portrait QWERTY keyboard,a 1.2GHz processor, and 8GB of built-in storage.

 

BlackBerry Torch 9850: This CDMA smartphone is bound for Sprint. The Torch 9850 boast of a 3.7-inch WVGA (800 x 480) display. Other key features for this handset include BlackBerry 7 OS, a 5 megapixel "zero-shutter lag" camera, 720p movie mode, inbuilt GPS and a 1.2GHz processor.

BlackBerry Torch 9860: This RIM handset features a 3.7-inch touch display and an optical trackpad for on-screen navigation. The new 9680 runs on the new BlackBerry 7 operating system and is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with flash and autofocus. Other top features include a 1.2GHz processor, 4GB of internal storage, support for microSD cards up to 32GB, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

BlackBerry Bold 9930: This Sprint-bound smartphone is expected to land this fall. The Bold 9930  runs on the new BlackBerry 7 OS and sports a slim 10.5mm-thick body. This handset also provides a wide QWERTY keyboard, a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, a trackpad, NFC support, and a 5MP camera.

Blackberry Bold 9900: This handset is rumored to land on T-Mobile on August 31 with a price tag of $299.99 after $50 MIR rebate. AT&T is also expected to offer this smartphone. It features a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard, 1.2GHz processor, dual-band Wi-Fi, 8GB of onboard storage, and a 5 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording.
