Verizon Wireless has introduced four new additions to its mobile phone lineup. The carrier has revealed three new smartphones and a rugged flip phone that will all be available this month. Let's take a closer look at these latest Verizon Wireless cell phones: the HTC Droid Eris, BlackBerry Curve 8530, LG Chocolate Touch and Samsung Convoy.
BlackBerry Curve 8530: This upcoming Verizon Wireless cell phone is the CDMA variant of the BlackBerry 8520 that is available at T-Mobile. This new smartphone features a QVGA display, full QWERTY keypad and a 2 megapixel camera. Other features include EV-DO, WiFi, 256MB of storage on board (expandable with 32GB microSD cards), GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 3.5mm headset jack. It will be available in black and "smoky violet" starting on November 20 for $99.99 on contract after rebate.
HTC Droid Eris: This is the carrier's second Android powered device and is similar to the Sprint HTC Hero. This handset features a 3.2-inch capacitive display, HTC's customized Sense user interface and a powerful 5 megapixel camera. Other key feature for this phone include stereo Bluetooth, accelerometer, visual voicemail, GPS, access to the Android market and tight integration with Google services such as Gmail, Maps and YouTube. As a bonus, this upcoming Android smartphone will be will boxed with an 8GB microSD card. The second phone in Verizon's Droid series will hit the stores on November 6 for $99 after rebates with a new contract.
LG Chocolate Touch: This music phone features a full touchscreen display, stereo Bluetooth and a 3.2 megapixel camera with video capture. It also offers a host music features including Dolby Mobile equalizer, FM radio with 12 presets, Song ID, and a "Join the Band" function. The latest LG Chocolate music phone for Verizon Wireless will be available starting today for $79.99 on contract after rebate.
Samsung Convoy:This Push-to-Talk phone features a rugged clamshell body that meets mil-spec 810F standards for durability. This durable flip phone offers a 2 megapixel camera, VZ Navigator support, high-quality stereo speaker, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and extended battery life. This handset will be available beginning on November 15 for $49.99 on contract after a $50 mail-in rebate.
