It appears that the upgrade to one of Verizon's proprietary feature phone will run on Android this year. An Engadget tipster revealed that the follow-up to LG's enV Touch will be an Android powered smartphone. The LG enV Touch 2 will feature a QWERTY keyboard and "dual touchscreens: one on the outside, and another on the inside for when you flip open the clamshell." The LG enV Touch 2 for Verizon is also rumored to be a global device and runs on Android 2.1 but may be launched with 2.2 FroYo. The tipster also described this upcoming Verizon Wireless phone as "pretty big and heavy." The Engadget tipster also delivered some updates on the rumored Motorola Droid Pro. It is alleged to be a clone of the current DROID 2 handset with a HSPA and GSM radio for global roaming. This upcoming Android smartphone should launch within weeks. |
