Verizon Wireless has been busy with announcing new Android smartphones this week. After unveiling the Pantech Breakout and HTC Rhyme, the carrier has announced the release date for the LG Enlighten.

The new LG Enlighten is an affordable Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone that will be available online starting September 22 for $79.99 after a $50 mail in rebate and with a new two-year customer agreement. Consumers can purchase it in stores on September 29.
