TURNAROUND AT SPRINT? [ ]

Apparently, Sprint lost more than a million customers this past quarter, which is discouraging for those of us who are eager to see Sprint turn it around. While their notoriously bad customer service has dramatically improved since Hesse arrived, it seems Sprint still has a ways to go. At 611Connect, we certainly believe Sprint desperately needs their own game changing handset, like the iPhone or the new T-Mobile G1 Android phone. Sprint should move aggressively to offer it's own Android phone. |
HTC FUZE TO LAUNCH SOON? [ ]

Here's some interesting info for AT&TY subscribers. According to Fuzemobility.com, the HTC Fuze appeared on a rebate sheet that was posted to AT&T's site. The appearance of the sleek Smartphone's model number and activation requirements are strong indications that a release is imminent. The HTC Fuze is a 3G device that features a large touch screen display and a full QWERTY keyboard. This upcoming AT&T Smartphone also offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Instant Messaging, GPS and FM radio. |

SPRINT PRO-RATES ETFS [ ]

Sprint has officially announced that the pro-rated early termination fee or ETF of its mobile phone contracts will be implemented starting on November 2nd. Sprint subscribers with new or renewed contracts will have a $200 ETF for the first six months and will be reduced by $10 for the succeeding months. This means that a customer who stays with the contract for 15 months will have a pro-rated ETF of only $100. |
FREE WI-FI FOR AT&T BLACKBERRY USERS [ ]

AT&T is now offering free access to its network of Wi-Fi hot spots to subscribers who own the iPhone and certain BlackBerry mobile devices. However, iPhone BlackBerry owners must subscribe to an unlimited data plan to benefit from this free Wi-Fi offer. AT&T's Wi-Fi network has more than 17,000 hot spots locations including coffee shops, airports, hotels, universities, and convention centers. |

According to a Wall Street Journal article, Motorola is planning to focus its efforts towards manufacturing mid-range cell phones running on the Google Android platform. This plan is a part of a set of major changes that Motorola wants to implement to its mobile phone business. The mobile phone manufacturer is also planning to outsource the production of its Windows Mobile Smartphones and resume the production of its entry level mobile phones. |

Sprint and HTC has officially launched the highly anticipated HTC Touch Pro Smartphone. The Touch Pro will be offered by all Sprint sales channels starting November 2 for $299.99 with a two-year subscriber agreement, after a $100 mail-in-rebate and a $25-or-higher data add-on or Everything plan with data. The HTC Touch Pro is a Windows Mobile Smartphone that features a 2.8-inch touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. |
SPRINT TO ADOPT PRORATED EARLTY TERMINATION FEES [ ]

According to an AP article, Sprint will prorate its early termination fees or ETF's by the end of of this year. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse revealed this information in an interview and added that the mobile phone carrier Is planning to deploy a new billing software to accommodate the prorated ETF. The new billing software will reduce the fee a customer has to pay based on the length of time he or she has stayed with the plan. Hesse also said that Sprint may be able to adopt the prorated early termination fee system as early as December. |
