The majority of iPhone users are looking forward to a better camera with video recording on the new iPhone. The 2 megapixel shooter on the iPhone and iPhone 3G cannot hope to compete with the monster cameras on the high-end phones that have been released this year. Fortunately, Digital Times has allegedly confirmed that the third-generation iPhone will sport a 3.2 Megapixel camera. According to the folks at Digital Times, Apple has tasked OmniVision Technologies to manufacture the 3.2MP CMOS cameras that will be put in its new iPhone. Interestingly, Apple is also allegedly planning to order 5 megapixel cameras that will be used in “another product expected to be launched later in the year”. However, it is unclear if the 5 megapixel cameras will be put in the third-generation iPhone or on the new iPod touch. [Via:UV] |
