APPLICATIONS FOR THE IPHONE

According to USAToday, Steve Jobs has announced that the Apple App Store will launch with "more than 500" applications for the iPhone and iPod touch. Jobs also indicated that 25% of the applications in the App Store will be free and 90% will not cost more than $10. The App Store offers a way for 3G iPhone and Touch owners to add games and other software to their devices. Major companies like Facebook, MySpace, AOL, eBay, Major League Baseball, Sega and Bank of America will offer applications in the App store. Mobile phone experts feel that these applications will set the 3G iPhone apart from rivals.
