AT&T WIRELESS WORKERS PREPARING TO GO ON STRIKE

AT&T Mobility workers are preparing for a possible strike as early as the 7th of February if an agreement is not reached.

The dispute rages about questions of benefits, commission and compensation.

A quote from the Communications Workers of America reads:

Picket signs are being sent out to every CWA Local with Mobility members as the February 7th expiration date approaches. With little progress at the bargaining table, every Local must be ready to walk, if necessary, to get some RESPECT from AT&T Mobility. The best way to avoid a strike is for EVERY member to step up their mobilization efforts, wear your button, wear red on Thursday, show your support for your bargaining team in every way you can.

AT&T retail stores would be affected as would customer service. Lets hope they can reach some sort of agreement. Horror stories regarding AT&T (and cell companies in general) and how they treat their retail employees on the front lines abound, so lets hope both sides can keep a fair and open mind and figure something out that doesn't screw over the customer who just needs to know if his BlackBerry Bold is broken.
