BLACKBERRY 8900 FOR AT&T AND NIAGARA TO BE ANNOUNCED AT WES 2009?

 

RIM will be hosting the annual Wireless Enterprise Symposium or WES in Orlando, Florida from May 5 to 7. Judging from the leaks and rumors that have circulated on the web, RIM will be unveiling some surprises at WES 2009. According to the folks at Boy Genius, we can expect to see the BlackBerry 8900 for AT&T and the BlackBerry 9630 during this RIM hosted event.

We have extensively covered both the BlackBerry 8900 and the BlackBerry 9630 on this blog. The 8900 is already available at T-Mobile and it appears that AT&T subscribers will soon be able to get their hands on this device. The official service books for the BlackBerry 8900 for AT&T have already been pushed out indicating that the final stages of an imminent launch are beng ironed out.

The BlackBerry 9630 or Niagara is a Smartphone for CDMA networks.This highly anticipated handset offers a nice combination of connectivity options including dual-band 1xRTT/EV-DO CDMA, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 2100MHz band of UMTS/HSDPA radios. The BlackBerry 9630 also offers a vibrant 480×360 display, 3.2 megapixel camera, GPS and OS 4.7.1. Verizon Wireless is expected to offer this device on June/July.

There are also rumors indicating that RIM will reveal some information on their upcoming LTE devices. Apparently, RIM has already begun trials of its LTE devices that might run on processors that top off at 1GHz.
