BLUETOOTH 3.0+HS

Speed matters, because "Time is Gold." With that said, Bluetooth SIG has announced the Bluetooth 3.0+HS (High Speed) Standard.

The newly- announced Bluetooth 3.0+HS (High Speed) Standard features significantly increased data speeds.

If the device is equipped with Bluetooth 3.0+HS and Wi-Fi, then it will pair via Bluetooth and then transfer data via Wi-Fi with a rate of 24Mbps. This will allow users to transfer large amount of data quickly.

The new spec will be backward compatible with Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and has enhanced power control features to reduce battery drain.

Bluetooth 3.0+HS is expected to be out in the market in 9 to 12 months.
