GARMIN-ASUS NUVIFONE G60 TO START SHIPPING NEXT WEEK

Today, Garmin-ASUS announced that its much-anticipated and long-delayed nuvifone G60 (which 611connect first reported on back in April) will finally start shipping later this month. Unfortunately, the Linux-based smartphone with a focus on navigation tasts will not yet be available in North America; on July 27 it will be available in Taiwan, followed by Singapore and Malaysia by the end of August. As for when the nuvifone G60 will be available in North America/Europe? The company has said that the phone is on track for a release in the UNited States and Europe during the second half of 2009.
