GOOGLE BANS UNLOCKED DEVELOPER G1 FROM ACCESSING PAID APPS

I'm afraid we have some bad news for those who have purchased the $400 unlocked developer T-Mobile G1. According to the folks at MacWorld, Google has disallowed unlocked developer T-Mobile G1 handsets from accessing paid Marketplace apps due to piracy concerns. Apparently, unlocked dev phones can open the private, hidden apps folder that contain paid content. This ability can allow unlocked developer T-Mobile G1 handsets owners to copy and redistribute apps. Google is also concerned that allowing unlocked developer T-Mobile G1 handsets to access paid apps will lead to app laundering scams.
