HTC TOUCH PRO2 FOR ATT APPROVED BY THE FCC; RELEASE IMMINENT

Following news that the new version of the HTC Touch was coming to ATT in the near future, the FCC has just made a pass on the smartphone. More information on the HTC Touch Pro2 for ATT after the jump.

According to PhoneArena, the 3G GSM device was likely to be named the HTC Fortress when released on the US carrier (though their leak had a release date of late May...which obviously did not happen). The HTC Touch Pro2 for ATT will likely be released before the end of the summer, but the FCC is not one to give out release dates of phones.

This update to the original HTC Touch includes a stunning-looking 480x800 pixel screen, with stereo Bluetooth, a full sliding keyboard, a quad-band antenna, Wi-Fi, 3G internet, and Windows Mobile 6. No pricing details have been released yet.
