IPHONE 3G S: "THE MOST POWERFUL, FASTEST IPHONE EVER MADE”

The new iPhone has been announced by Phil Schiller at the Apple WWDC Keynote in Florida. Named the iPhone 3G S, it's the "most powerful, fastest iPhone ever made.” The iPhone 3G S sports “the same great design of the iPhone 3G" and will be available on June 19th. The 16GB version will be offered at 199$ and the 32GB version will be $299. Over 80 countries will get the new iPhone 3G S.

The S stands for speed and the presentation claims that "launching messaging is 2.1x faster, loading SimCity is 2.4x faster, viewing Excel 3.6x faster, loading NY Times 2.9x faster". The new iPhone 3G S also supports OpenGL|ES and  7.2 Mbps HSDPA.

The new features of the iPhone 3G S includes a more powerful camera with Autofocus, Autoexposure. Tap to Focus, and video capture.

Other key features include voice control and a built-in digital compass that can show a users orientation, longitude and latitude, and can link right to Google map.

The latest Apple handset will also provide improved battery life with 9 hours on Wi-Fi, 10 hours on video, 30 hours on audio, 12 hours on 2g talk and 5 hours on 3g talk.

Schiller also announced that Apple wishes to reach even more customers so the iPhone 3G 8GB version will stays on the market for $99.

The new iPhone 3.0 OS will be available worldwide on June 17th.  It will be free for all iPhone customers.
