Continuing with more Sony-Ericsson news, the company is releasing a new 3G mediaphone early next month (July 6). More after the jump. The Sony Ericsson W995a has oodles of media features, including being one of the first American phones to include an 8.1 megapixel digital camera, along with 16x digital zoom, face detection, flash, and geotagging. To top that off, Sony threw in Wi-Fi support, wireless Bluetooth audio support, FM radio, Sony's new Walkman 3.0 music/video player, and GPS support. Memory-wise, the phone comes with a staggering 8GB Memory Stick Micro card. The most prominent feature of the Sony Ericsson W995a is its gargantuan, 2.6-inch LCD display, which has a built-in accelerometer to allow for spontaneous auto-rotation of whatever is on-screen. And in continuing with other Walkman phones, the numeric pad slides out at the bottom. Music controls and dedicated volume buttons also line the side of the slider-phone. As of right now, it is unknown whether there is an actual 2.5mm headphone jack on the phone, as the picture above shows the headphones plugging into the adaptor. The Sony Ericsson W995a will be available for the easily-digestible price of $600 unlocked, and is available in black, silver, and red. |
