NOKIA LAUNCHES FIRST TOUCH SCREEN CELL PHONE

According to the press release, Nokia's first touch screen phone will hit the European markets in the fourth quarter of 2008. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will then be launched in other markets including the US in the first quarter of 2009. However, pricing information for this handset was not revealed. The Nokia 5800 runs on the S60 5th Edition platform, which works with touch input devices. This handset sports a 3.2 inch touch screen display and a 3.2 megapixel camera (with Carl Zeiss lens) and dual LED flashes. The other key features for the 5800 include quad-band GSM/EDGE radios, a 3.5mm headset jack, stereo Bluetooth, a-GPS, Wi-Fi, HSDPA data, and stereo speakers. |
