PALM PRE PHONE PLAN PRICING REVEALED

Palm and Sprint held a webcast today where they unveiled the pricing plans for the Pre. Sprint will be pushing its "Everything" plans (which include unlimited data and messaging) which is what people had expected seeing as how the Pre is so data intensive.

For individuals, the plans will break down like this:

• 450 minutes / $69.99
• 900 minutes / $89.99
• Unlimited / $99.99

As far as families go, the plans are as follows:

• 1500 minutes / $129.99
• 3000 minutes / $169.99
• Unlimited / $189.99

Sprint and Palm didn't reveal anything truly juicy about the Pre launch date, which of course is what everyone wants to know, they simply confirmed availability in the first half of this year. They did say that the wireless "touchstone" charging dock for the Pre would be an add-on accessory to be purchased separately, which was kind of a given since it requires a different battery cover with magnets.

As someone who currently pays $200 a month for two iPhones on AT&T these plans sound pretty nice to me. Just sayin'.

^ sounds like a great deal to me

You're right, the $69.99 base plan comes with unlimited data AND messaging (at least according to the "Simply Everything" plan details on the Sprint site).

So in that sense, it seems like one heck of a deal. Especially considering AT&T doesn't give you any messaging standard on their iPhone packages.

Pre, you can't get here soon enough!

A tad expensive?

Gosh, isn't 450 minutes / $69.99 a bit on the pricey side for Sprint pricing? I'm assuming, though, that it comes with unlimited data.

Maybe I'm just a cheapscape. Still can't wait for the Palm Pre. :)
