PRESIDENT OBAMA HANGS ON TO HIS BLACKBERRY, ALSO DRAGS AROUND A BRICK PHONE

Prior to the inauguration of President Obama there was serious concern that he would have to leave his BlackBerry behind, a device that had become a trusted old friend to him on the campaign trail. Well luckily for our illustrious new leader, he gets to keep it, but he is now saddled with a (hideous) NSA-approved smartphone. Did I mention it's hideous?

President Obama is now free to use his BlackBerry for personal use, which is fantastic since his chief concern about leaving his BlackBerry behind was that it would further insulate him inside the already oppressive bubble in which the President resides.

Anything government-related has to be handled on a smartphone approved by the National Security Agency. What won out? A Quasimoto-like device called the Sectéra Edge. She's a looker alright.

The Sectera Edge's feature list is pretty impressive, if security and security alone is your main concern. It's a global phone with GSM & CDMA, it uses a "familiar" Windows OS, it separates your classified and unclassified applications, and has encrypted everything.

Truth be told and all jokes aside, it's a good thing that the President is conducting official business on the most secure handset the government can buy. But hopefully with the way the world is headed into ever and ever more technological territory a company will develop a...."better"....device?

No, I'm not superficial.

barrackberry

The one thing that is not proof is loosing the batrrackberry. I wonder if it is just one authentication method, because that is not fool proof either.

Either way, it sure is impressive. Can a mare mortal not going to the white house get one of these barrac-berries?
