REPORTS IN THE NEWS ON QUESTIONS WHETHER CELL PHONES CAUSE CANCER, BRAIN CANCER.

Here is a blog entry in the well of the New York Times entitled: "How Much Radiation Does Your Phone Emit?"

quote: "...editors note the data aren’t meant to imply that cellphone radiation
poses a risk, nor is it meant to say that the phones are safe...."

This story is related to another story that also ran in the New York Times Experts Revive Debate Over Cellphones and Cancer where a prominent surgon is quted:
Dr. Vini Khurana, an associate professor of neurosurgery at the Australian National University who is an outspoken critic of cellphones, said: “I use it on the speaker-phone mode. I do not hold it to my ear.”
Of course the debate goes on as someone rebuts stating that the acusition of cell phones causing brain cancer "defies credulity".
Is this cell phone health debate on the fringes or is it entering mainstream? I feel like i should find the ending of the movie "Thank you for smoking".
Finally for the curious, here is the CNET list:
Ten highest-radiation cell phones (United States)
