SAMSUNG WATER POWERED CELL PHONE IN THE WORKS

The innovators over at Samsung have recently developed a new type of cell phone battery that is entirely powered by good ol' H20. The phone, which is set to hit the market in 2010, works like this: when the handset is switched on, reaction between metal and water in the phone produce hydrogen gas. The gas is then channeled to the fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen in the air to generate power. Are you confused yet? Don't worry- you don't need to know the exact mechanics of how it works. Instead, why not focus on the wonderful benefits that this phone will bring? Aside from 10 lengthy hours of talk time (not bad for a battery fueled by water!), this power-packed phone will be a great way to help save our struggling planet. According to Samsung, the hydrogen cartridge would have to be replaced about every five days, based on an average of four hours daily use. Of course, Samsung is already working like a busy little bee in order to come up with a solution to eliminate the hydrogen cartridge all together. Don't get too excited just yet; the phone is still very much in its preliminary stages and doesn't plan on being released until 2010, at the very latest. Until then, why not start the countdown until water makes it wonderful debut?
