SPRINT ANNOUNCES LG'S LX290 SLIDER PHONE

These days affordable phones are hard to find. Between iPhones and Blackberrys and Palm Pres, phones can be quite expensive. Luckily Sprint has just announced the launch of the LG LX290, an affordable slider phone that allows users to take calls, send messages, and keep track of their many appointments. The LX290 also features a 1.3 megapixel camera, GPS navigation capability for the directionally challenged, and access to standard Sprint applications.

On top of these basic features, users can use the 1.3 megapixel camera to take pictures and then send them in a flash to friends and family using MMS picture messaging. Also equipped with a 2.5mm audio jack, users will be able to tune into and get moving to their favourite music. Of course the phone supports email for AIM, Yahoo! Windows Live, Hotmail, and much more. The LX 290 also includes support for most standard Sprint apps such as Sprint Navigation for voice-guided turn-by-turn directions and NFL Mobile Live for die hard NFLers.

Pricing and availability for the LG LX290 have not yet been announced.
