If you're hoping to get a Palm Pre for your GSM wireless network provider, then you might have to wait until next year. According to the folks at CNBC, a "person familiar with the matter" has informed them that Sprint Nextel has been granted exclusive U.S. rights to sell the Palm Pre through the end of 2009. However, Sprint and Palm have not made any official announcement with regards to the length of the Pre's exclusivity period. The official Sprint Palm Pre release date is still unknown but the highly anticipated Smartphone is expected by hit the stores in June. Some experts feel that the Palm Pre will be able to help Sprint gain more customers. However, Palm is also relying on the Pre and the new webOS platform to revive its Smartphone business. Releasing the device on multiple carriers would help Palm achieve its goals. [Via: Gizmodo] |
