SPRINT: THE ROAD AHEAD

As many of you know, Sprint has been going through tough times. A disastrous merger with Nextel and notoriously bad customer service has left the company hemorrhaging customers. However, the worst may now be over. With Sprint under new management, the company has focused on improving customer service, with an emphasis on customer retention. In addition, it is having more success with its improved selection of handsets. The Samsung Instinct has been a hit, enabling Sprint to offer a competitive alternative to AT&T’s venerated iPhone. The imminent release of the powerful Sprint Touch Diamond and Sprint Touch Pro should further expand their selection of new Smartphones. Sprint is also rumored to be releasing a Google Android based handset by the end of the fourth quarter. If that wasn’t enough, Sprint is also getting ready to turn on its new 4G network called WiMax. While new management, a stronger handset pipeline and WiMax are no guarantee that Sprint will regain its former glory, it is certainly a good sign that Sprint is finally headed back in the right direction. We at 611Connect certainly hope Sprint gets it act together. More competition in the marketplace can only benefit consumers and cell phone enthusiasts alike. |
