With this launch, T-Mobile subscribers who own phones equipped with 1700 MHz radios can access both voice and data wireless services on the new 3G network. Most of the mobile phones manufactured by Nokia and Samsung in T-Mobile's lineup can access the 1700 MHz AWS spectrum. In the coming months, T-Mobile is planning to introduce an HSDPA phone and data-centric, all-in-one devices. The carrier expects cover the majority of its data footprint covered by the end of the year by rolling out the 3G network to other markets. The network is also expected to support its Wi-Fi-based Hotspot@Home products and services. |
