T-MOBILE FINALLY LAUNCHES ITS OWN 3G WEBCONNECT STICK

T-Mobile took the wraps off its 3G USB stick for laptops today, and now joins the ranks of every other major US carrier in giving customers the wireless internet on the go option.

The prices are in line with every other major carrier too. The stick itself will run you $49.99 with a 2 year contract and $99.99 with a 1 year. And don't even think about buying the thing sans contract, because than you'll be looking at an extremely inflated price of $249.99 for the minute device.

Pricing plans are exactly what others are charging as well. $59.99 a month will get you 5GB worth of data. It also gets you free access to all T-Mobile WiFi hotspots, and the modem itself can act as a memory stick with 8GB of flash storage.

It's unclear as of now though whether or not this is a wise move as far as consumer buying decisions go. Not just because T-Mobile's 3G network is in its infancy, while others are more mature, but because carriers like Verizon and Sprint are known to have better down/up speeds and coverage when it comes to these 3G sticks. And they cost the same per month as what T-Mobile is offering.

Still though, if you do have your heart set on giving T-Mobile your money instead of the other giants, stick this in your USB port and smoke it.
