HTC or is a Taiwan-based company best known for creating Windows Mobile-based smartphones. The company Is also recognized as the maker of the T-Mobile G1, the first Android-based smartphone. In 2009, HTC has launched a series of smartphones that will make a significant impact in the smartphone market. Let's look at the HTC smartphones that are coming this year.

HTC Touch Pro2: This device is one of the most-anticipated HTC smartphones for this year. Some experts have labeled it as the best Windows Mobile smartphone for 2009. The HTC Touch Pro2 offers a 3.6 inches touch-sensitive display with TouchFLO 3D interface and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It is expected to be launched by several US carriers.

 

HTC Hero: This Android-based phone is the first device to feature the new Sense UI. The HTC Hero sports a 3.20 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen and a 5.0 megapixel camera with auto-focus. This handset has already passed through the FCC and is expected to come to the US before the end of the year.

 

HTC Touch Diamond2: This handset is also a candidate for the best Windows Mobile smartphone for this year. The HTC Touch Diamond2 features a 3.2 inch touch-sensitive display with TouchFLO 3D interface and a 5 megapixel camera. This handset will have broader global availability coming later in the year.

 

T-Mobile myTouch 3G: This is T-Mobile USA's second Android based smartphone. The T-Mobile myTouch 3G provides a 3.20 inch HVGA touchscreen and a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and video recording. This smartphone is expected to be released in August.

 

HTC Lancaster: Rumors indicate that this upcoming HTC phone will be the first Android-based mobile phone for AT&T. The HTC Lancaster sports a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard and a 3 megapixel fixed-focus camera. This handset is expected to enter the market in August.
