According to the mobile phone spies at Boy Genius Report, a memo leak has indicated that Verizon Wireless will require a $29.99/month or greater data plan on new Smartphones beginning on Nov. 14. Verizon will also cease offering pay as you go data plans, 1X data block plans and the 10 MB $24.99/month plans for new Smartphones. Fortunately, Verizon subscribers using old phones currently on a PAYG data plan are not required to upgrade to a $29.99/month plan. Verizon is also planning to impose a $15/month VCast plan that provides unlimited data for email and web browsing to Mobile Web 2.0 phones such as the LG Dare, LG Voyager and the Motorola Krave ZN4 |
