Modern technology has allowed users to play games, watch videos, and listen to music on their mobile phones. And mobile music doesn’t have to be all about MP3s, either. The ubiquitous radio is still here amongst us, and it might already be inside your phone. It’s not as if anybody wants radio to go away. As a matter of fact, the technology that lets people enjoy streaming videos and movies on the Internet has also included radio in the mix. Internet radio has grown by leaps and bounds over the years, as shown by the growth of radio stations that have popped up all over the World Wide Web. Is it any wonder, therefore, that streaming radio will also find its way on your mobile phone sooner or later? Lots of mobile phone manufacturers are making an effort to catch up and provide this feature on their next models. But you won’t have to wait, because there are already quite a few Java and Symbian phones available nowadays that let you listen to streaming radio through an installed application. The iPhone, of course, is right up there with its own web radio capability. Apps such as Flytunes or Pandora Radio are making sure that iPhone owners don't get left behind even with this feature. Of course, there are other mobile phone models aside from the iPhone that let their users enjoy the same kind of entertainment and functionality. The right phone, coupled with the right application, lets users turn their mobile phones into a web radio player that plays streaming music, talk, and news from hundreds of Internet radio stations! |
