WIFI COMING TO SPRINT BLACKBERRY TOUR IN 2010

Here's some good news for Sprint subscribers. According to the folks at Fierce Wireless, the Sprint BlackBerry Tour will offer WiFi in 2010. Sprint has also decided to require its smartphone suppliers to add WiFi into their devices. Jeff Clemow, the carrier's director of business product marketing, stated that, "Sprint is embracing WiFi in all its major devices going forward."

Clemow also revealed that, "It is now a requirement for all our PDA equipment suppliers to include WiFi. Several quarters ago we made a conscious decision to require all of our PDA suppliers to support WiFi." Unfortunately, Sprint's director of business product marketing also indicated that the carrier has not set a specific date for its smartphone suppliers for the inclusion of WiFi.

The Sprint BlackBerry Tour will be available on Sunday, July 12th for $199.99 after instant rebate. Verizon Wireless is also offering the BlackBerry Tour on the same date with the same prize.
