It's fair to say that Google Android has lost the spotlight since the T-Mobile G1 was released. Other mobile operating systems have seemed to overshadow Google's open source platform this year including Palm's web OS, iPhone 3.0 and even WIndows Mobile 6.5. However, Google Android is far from finished according to the company's CEO, Eric Schmidt because he is predicting that, "Android is going to have a very strong year." The new Google Android 1.5 version and the HTC Magic appears to be part of the company's strong prediction for 2009. Schmidt may also be hinting to new Google Android handsets and new partnerships with mobile phone service providers as the foundation of his prediction for the platform's performance for this year. There were also some rumors indicating that Android will expand into netbooks or mini-laptops in 2009. [Via: PCWorld] |
