With the launch of the Palm Pre and it's Synergy feature less than a week away, Microsoft and Windows Mobile are beginning to develop their rebuttal to be included in WinMo 7. Synergy is a management software where applications within WebOS will automatically update based on information from social networks; more specifically, eliminating the need to manually update things like address books and calendars. A new job posted on Microsoft's website has hinted to the new development path. The job description states: "The Communications Foundations team is the engine room that powers these social experiences - the team builds the connectors and Unified Storage models that power all the social & communications experiences for WM7. The team is at the center of the rich change in how communications is happening, driven by the rapid shifts in social networking - Live wave 4, Facebook, Twitter etc." The job description also mentions other facinating details, that hint at integrating with Zune products. Microsoft might not give Palm a run for their money anytime soon, but at least they are trying to remain competitive in the mobile market. [via IntoMobile]
