FIVE UGLIEST CELL PHONES ON THE MARKET
Submitted by Dayna Danson on Mon, 02/08/2010 - 18:17.Bookmark/Search this post with: As cell phone enthusiasts, we are always interested in the latest, greatest, and most physically appealing cell phones on the market. Perhaps that’s why the iphone, the LG BL40 and the classic yet stylish Blackberry are all so popular. But what about the ugly phones? The gaudy, horrifically designed, tacky cell phones that nobody wants, or would be crazy to own? Here is a list of five of what we think are the ugliest cell phones available on the market today. We highly suggest avoiding them, but hey, to each his own! It would make sense that the more a cell phone costs, the more stylish it would be, bu in the case of the Vertu Cobra cell phone, that does not seem to be true. The Cobra costs a staggering $310,000 and has been created with hundreds of diamonds and rubies encrusted by French jeweller Boucheron. it is made from one pear-cut diamond, one white diamond, two emerals eyes and 439 rubies. While that may sound nice, it really is quite the eyesore: a pink phone with a purple scorpion wrapped around it isn't exactly the most delicate sight. Besides, the Verty Cobra is just your basic candy bar phone with a glittery eyesore attached. ![]() 2. Givori Serendpity
The Givori Serendipity is yet another example of an expensive phone that is lacking in the looks department. It is a collection of Nokia 8800 and N76 handsets encrusted and decorated with a collection of vintage 1930s and 1940s intaglio Czech stones sprinkled with tiny specks of aventurine gold. It may sound pretty, but the Givori Serendpity looks like serendipitious and more....hideous. Spare yourself the trouble and money ($31,000 to be exact), and don’t buy this phone. If you’re crazy for diamonds, we suggest opting for something more subtle.

While we give Nokia points in creativity, the 3250 just doesn’t seem to cut it. It has some nice dimensions (103.8 x 50 x 19.8 mm and it weighs approximately 115g), however the small size does not even come close to making up for the eyesore that it is. The 3250 contains a swivelling bottom half that can be rotate into three positions: phone mode, music mode and camera mode. This is a pretty cool feature, however when rotated, the phone takes on an abstract look that is, well, ugly! Not to mention the horrific colours that this phone is available in: a dark, brownish green and Pepto Bismol pink. Yuck!

Unfortunately (or fortunately), there isn’t much to say about the Siemens Xelibri line of phones, except that instead of making it big, the brand only lasted 18 months before they were all pulled from the market. Enough said!

The Nokia 3650 is truly a site for sore eyes! Available in a sickly powder blue and laden with numbers across the entire front, it’s no wonder this phone never took off. It’s got an iPod style click wheel as a keypad and a smattering of numbers surrounding it. We think you’ll agree that this phone deserves to be on this list.
