Amidst the iPhones and Blackberries, it may not seem like there is any need for lower-end phones these days, but believe it or not, not everyone feels the need to be super-connected 24/7! Nokia has recognized this and released a low-end phone called the Nokia Mural, an affordable flip device that comes wrapped in a colourful package- perfect for teens, or for those who don't need a whole whack of gadgets to come with their phone. The Mural is a 3G-enabled device with some sweet media abilities, including multimedia messages (MMS). There’s also a built-in IM client. There’s also tons of AT&T’s services on the Mural, like AT&T Mobile Music, AT&T Navigator, and AT&T Video Share. The inside screen is a 2.2-inch QVGA, there’s a 2-megapixel camera on back, and the phone’s memory can be expanded to 16GB. External music keys also mean you don’t need to open the device to listen to music. Perhaps the best part of hte Mural is the choice between several brightly colored covers: blue, red, green, orange, purple and pink. The Mural will be available on and after September 6 at select retail stores, as well as AT&T’s website. It will be going for $49.99 after a $50 main-in rebate, and a new, two-year contract.
