THE BEST IPHONE APPS. EVER.

So the iPhone has this little App Store, and someone told me that they're pretty successful and whatnot. The question is, out of the 75,000 currently available apps, which ones are worth your time (and maybe your money)? Check out a rundown of some of the best apps currently available (in no particular order) after the jump, and I'll give you one hint about the list: the Whoopie Cushion isn't on there.

Facebook

Given that Facebook has enough members to be considered a reasonably-sized country in and of itself, it's not surprising that Facebook needed an intuitive, striking iPhone app to keep their mobile users on the network. The first two versions were kind of half-assed ways to get themselves a presence in the App Store, but their version 3 wowed the iPhone community with its new, yet easy-to-use iPhone-esque interface and snappier loading times. For those charlatans that refuse to participate in Twitter (ACHEM!), this is a convenient way to remain a part of The Social Network.

Fandango

This is one of those apps that will easily make you "that guy" with an iPhone. It allows you to go through movie times and buy tickets in super-quick app form, rather than through fandango's glitchy iPhone-optimized web page. And it's free. It works and it's free. What more could you ask for?

Convertbot

Alright, I guess this is more useful for me, given that I'm an engineering student who has to frequently convert arcane units into one another, but even if you rarely have the use for a unit conversion tool, this app is probably one of the most gorgeous apps available in the App Store. By far. Look at it! It looks like a little handheld tool with all of its gradients and textures...It's so cute...

Slacker Radio

Yeah, that's right. I don't use the Pandora app. I'm pretty much done with my love affair with Pandora. I've moved on to a better dynamic-playlist-application...thing: Slacker Radio. My main reason? It features stand-up comedians (something Pandora doesn't have), and for the times when you don't want a playlist that is completely and utterly random, you fuse together songs that would normally embody several playlists into one combined super-playlist. It's a Pandora that hasn't yet been crippled by record companies. There.

Simplistic, and very much iPhone-ish. Shake the phone, and find a random restaurant in your area. It works, and it allows you to eat a lot, so I love it.

I Am T-Pain

As silly as it is to have AutoTune in your pocket, this app is amazingly fun, social, and screams "iPhone."

Mint.com

The best online banking software has come out with the best iPhone banking app, using the trademark GORGEOUS design aesthetics that adorn their web version, and making almost all of their online features completely portable and useful.

Now I've probably missed a few Apps here in my roundup, and since I refuse to Tweet, I've left out the lot of Twitter apps that are available on the App Store. So if I've missed anything critically important and awesome, let me know in the comments below.
