Blocking your number from caller IDs is simple. Your number will show up at 'private' or 'restricted'. You can either block your number by calling your provider in which it will be blocked from everyone or you can block your phone number on a specific call. |

If you want your phone number to be permanently blocked you can call your cell phone carriers customer service and request a line block. You can probably achieve this by calling 611 from your cell phone2
If you want to temporarily unblock your number when you have your phone on permanent block simply dial *82 before the number you are dialing. Your phone number will show up for the caller only on that one call. You must dial *82 everytime if you wish to unblock your number.3
If you want to block your number on a call by call basis simply dial *67 before dialing the number 4
You can always use services such as Google Voice to call a phone using your Google Voice number leaving your carrier cell phone number anonymous.
Tips & Warnings
- Test this out using your home phone or with a friend to make sure you are implementing the steps properly.
- Your number will not be blocked from emergency services or 1-800 numbers
