Some Samsung Galaxy S III units are suffering from an issue with the Home key. If the Home key on your device doesn't work when the idle screen is displayed, then follow the steps below

Instructions Difficulty: Moderate

Select Apps.

Then tap Settings.

Scroll through the menu and choose Back up and reset

Touch Factory data reset under Personal data

A disclaimer message will appear. Read it and select Reset device if you wish to continue.

A confirmation message will appear and then select Delete all.
