The Samsung Galaxy S III allows one to change the settings to fit your personal usage. For instance, you can manage the data usage of your phone to one's liking. Follow the steps below to take control of the data usage on your smartphone.

Difficulty: Moderate

Tap Apps from the home screen and scroll to and tap Settings.

Touch Data usage and the total data usage for the current usage cycle is displayed. tap the Data usage cycle drop-down menu to change the usage cycle dates.

Then tap Change cycle. Next scroll to the desired cycle reset date and tap Set.

Tap Set mobile data limit if you wish to set a data limit. Then read the Limiting data usage message and tap OK.

Tap the limit or warning indicators to set the desired level for each. Scroll to the desired data usage limit or warning level and tap Set.

To limit the data usage of individual applications, scroll to and tap the desired application. Then scroll to and tap to check Restrict background data. Read the warning and tap OK.

Tips & Warnings

To view data usage for a specific time period during the current cycle, tap and drag the white vertical bars to set the desired date range.
The usage displayed on the data usage settings screen is measured by the phone and may differ from data usage shown on the invoice. This feature should be used as a guide to track usage, but is not guaranteed to prevent additional charges.
