First thing I noticed about this phone is that it?s very light and smaller than I?m expecting. It is lighter and smaller than my sister?s Iphone. I love the size since I have small hands. :D
The LG Dare is my first phone with today?s touch screen mania. I have no problems with LG Dare?s touch screen since it is very responsive with just a tap (not too hard, not to soft). When you touch the screen, it give you a slight feedback vibration to let you know that you touched a button, as well as a nice "beep" (which can be turned on or off). I find the feedback vibration very pleasing.
Texting is very easy. You can use either the T9 or rotate the phone and the screen will flip almost immediately to show a full QWERTY keyboard. I recommend calibrating the touch screen using a stylus. It makes it more responsive and accurate then with a finger for calibrating.
This is certainly one of the best Verizon User Iinterface! You perhaps have noticed by now that except for a few LG phones all Verizon phones have the same casual red menu interface.
Also there is screen lock button in the upper right hand corner that is simple to push to lock the phone before placing it into your pocket or purse.
Call quality is excellent. The speaker is very crips and clear. The microphone is also great as well as the reception.
This phone is NOT a smart phone. To me this is a great because smart phones needed Data plans that cost a lot.
Surfing the web, it is not too bad. For a 3G phone that does not have a data plan though this thing is astonishing. I was able to watch youtube videos, open myspace, facebook and my yahoo mail, gmail without any problem.
The phone has a 3.2 megapixel camera. It takes good-looking pictures, not as good as a standalone camera mind you but simply the best camera phone. Also it records some pretty cool videos with up to 30 Seconds to send via MMS.
T he phone has 200 MB of internal memory for music, plus a 200 MB of internal memory for other data services. This phone also has a micro SDHC memory card reader so that you can play (currently) up to 8 gigs running of the card. Also it should support the 16 gigs when those become available as well. Also, it has a headphone jack on the top of the phone for 3.5mm headphones.
As a music phone, it sounds really good. If you don’t have a standalone MP3 player this will still work great.
I love the ?favorites? feature where you can choose your favorite contacts that will show their faces (you set a pic ID for them). You can drag them around to order them in any way you choose. Once you pick a contact you then have the options to either text, call, or edit their contact details. It?s better than speed dial!
Bottom line, LG Dare is a wonderful and very customizable. Highly recommended phone!
