01234 Wonderful Phone., Monday, November 3, 2008 - 12:25

The T-mobile G1 is simply a wonderful phone. When I got this phone, I just fell in love with it. The hardware is a bit old-fashioned but still very functional and the OS is just remarkable. I love the Google "cloud" sync, the touch screen is great, and the flexibility offered by the market is already exceptional. The battery life is okay so far. I won’t give it a perfect review because it isn’t perfect, but it’s almost perfect.
Pros:
- Great touch screen.
- WiFi and Bluetooth.
- Easy-to-use keyboard .
- Loud speaker phone and great sound quality clear and loud.
- Fast internet on 3G.
- The web browser is excellent.
- The Market is super cool, many good programs already and it?s just the start.
- Huge beautiful screen.
- Pleasant subtle design.
- Full qwerty keyboard.
- Apps store.
- Great reception.
- Android OS.

Cons:
- The speaker is on the back, so it can get barely audible at times.

Overall, T-Mobile G1 is a sleek, fast and powerful, everything from scanning bar codes to listening to songs. The g1 is astounding and seamless! I highly recommend it.

01234 Waiting..., Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 16:54

I’m a T-Mobile subscriber and I have been waiting for this T-Mobile G1. Finally, us T-Mmo subscribers will have a phone that is similar to the iPhone. The specs are unreal. I just hope it is UMA compatible. I love my Hotspot@Home service.

01234 Incredible Phone!, Thursday, December 18, 2008 - 14:11

The T-Mobile G1 phone rocks. I absolutely adore the syncing capability with contacts, google calender, and more. I was able to download a lot of applications the first day. Apps for games, tools, and other phone software are amazing. The high resolution touch screen is bright and responsive. The trackball makes navigating so simple. Love that the volume and camera controls are on the sides of the device which is handy. The 3-megapixel camera is on the back. Slide the screen up to reveal a comfy small QWERTY keyboard.

Pros: Android operating system; brilliant 3-inch touchscreen; user customizable; excellent sound; fast OS no lags compared to iPhone; Great screen quality; easy to learn and use; Great browser and acceptable even without 3G; Great download speeds with 3G and wi-fi; Responsive touch screen, great for browsing; Barcode scanning and price check app mind blowing

Cons: Battery life could be better; lacks stereo Bluetooth and Microsoft Exchange support; No MS Exchange Sync

Overall, the T-Mobile G1 makes life more convenient and productive through its innovative apps, customization, and software. The Google Android platform makes this smartphone solid and powerful.

Google is on fire - its released a browser and now this. I wonder if it will generate as much excitement as the iPhone. will it be iPhone vs. Android?

01234 Undecided, Wednesday, September 24, 2008 - 09:50

So I watched the T-Mobile G1 press conference yesterday and read the early reviews and I have mixed feelings about this device. On the one hand, I’m thrilled that there finally is a legitimate iPhone competitor in the Market. Like the iPhone, the T-Mobile G1 has unlimited potential, since it is essentially a software platform. The device itself is very powerful. I love the Google maps implementation and it’s awesome how you can directly download songs from Amazon. Also, the web browser takes surfing the web on a mobile device to a whole new level. I am, however, pretty disappointed that it does not offer Activesync because I really need that for work. Also, what’s up with the non-standard headphone input that will require a special adapter? Anyhow, like I mentioned earlier, I’m really glad this device is on the market, I’m just not sure yet if it is right cell phone for me. Good Luck!

I love this G1 phone I got from T-Mobile. Extremely fast and handy. Fast internet and user-friendly. Free applications are so cool! You create your own ringtones. The keyboard is easy to use. I love the G1 and I was astonished that it surpassed my expectations by far. The open source architecture is splendid as well.

Google R&D behind the phone applications
Neat Copy and Pastefeature
3MP camera takes decent pictures
GPS/AGPS
Google OS
God screen size and brightness
User replaceable battery life.
compass mode in street view
web pages load faster
the browser is able to save your login and passwords just like a computer

Cons:
Bulky
Lack of headphone jack.

Overall, I LOVE my G1 and I'm sure you will too.

01234 Ready for Android, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 - 10:19

I’m pretty fired up for the T-Mobile G1. First, I am a T-Mobile subscriber and T-Mobile desperately needs some new cool phones fast. Second, from what I’ve seen, the specs on this device are fantastic. However, I have a couple of concerns. Will the the G1 be compatible with T-Mobile’s Hotspot at Home? Also, what about email? Will the device be compatible with any push services? Anyhow, I guess all of my questions will be answered soon.

01234 T-mobile G1, Wednesday, November 12, 2008 - 23:47

I think the most exciting thing about this phone is the future of it. It allows others to create applications for it. So third party programmers can go wild with the G1. Innovation is something that doesn't escape those of us that don't understand why sleeping is so important. I remember in college I had a buddy who kept a website on the Houston Rockets. We would go to class all day and then head to the Computer lab to finish our homework. The only problem was that he was so engrossed in making his website awesome that he would stay up all night and program. Now I know my pal isn't an anomaly in the force. There are many others out there that the force is strong with. So I am expecting great things from all the insomniacs out there. The hardware itself is a strong base. It has a great camera. It has the connectivity and networking ability that is important to those of us that need to be in touch with the ether. There are so many great phones on the market. This one seems to have the expandibility and tweekability that less casual users are looking for. So I hape that this smartphone finds its way onto other providers networks.

01234 The new Googlephone, Monday, March 2, 2009 - 03:05

I chose this phone as a replacement for my old Blackberry and somehow this phone didn't fail me.

It just performs everything I want. It's good and easy for texting, it has good call quality, there are loads of interesting applications and the android system rocks. Accessing my Gmail is like child's play once the set-up was completed. The phone is simply great and easy to master! The keyboard is also fantastic and easy to use. I didn't encounter problems when browsing the internet since this device is really made for fast internet connectivity. The best thing about this is that this device is integrated with google applications such as Gmail, Google maps (which synchs well with the built-in GPS), and Google search. Not only that, YouTube and Facebook, too.

Along with the phone also comes the 2GB memory card which is not bad and it can be upgraded up to 8GB. I just love it because I can store lots of music and videos on it. The sound quality is nice, too.

There are some downsides to this device although I don't consider these much of an issue. This phone only has 3.2 megapixel camera that has no flash and zoom, and also lacks the video recording capability. It also doesn't have an FM radio. Also others might also want to know that this device has no predictive text, no MMS video capability, no video calling, and no voice dialling. The battery life is also short. It drains faster so you will have to charge it often.

Despite of those issues I mentioned above, I really couldn't complain because this device has far exceeded my expectations. I will continue to use this phone and I would also recommend it.
